Double Olympic medallist Bryony Page officially opens Haven’s adventure village at Caister-on-Sea Holiday Park
A range of new activities available for holidaymakers and owners to enjoy.
Leading UK holiday park operator, Haven, has extended its Park of the Future concept trials with the official launch of its Adventure Village at Caister-on-Sea Holiday Park.
The Park of the Future project, which has seen Haven invest over £110m while trialling innovative new concepts for holidaymakers and holiday homeowners, is now in its third year and the new Adventure Village brings together concepts that have been trialled during 2019. Whilst holidaymakers were able to try out some of the activities the official launch was delayed due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
Olympic trampoline gymnast Bryony Page, silver medallist in the trampoline at the Rio 2016 games and bronze medallist at the recent Tokyo 2020 games officially opens the Adventure Village today.
There is so much to do, every day something action packed, and you could never be bored!” says Bryony. “This would have been a dream of mine to come to as a child, actually its pretty good as an adult too!”
The Adventure Village has a range of activities for both young and old and you don’t need to be an Olympic gymnast to get involved. The outdoor play area has lots for children to climb, explore and slide down with the multi-use games area ideal for a range of games with friends.
Feeling energetic? Well the Adventure Village has some bungee trampolines, helping you to get to the heights Bryony achieves on a full-size trampoline, but maybe not quite the full repertoire of aerial skills.
Bryony was joined at the launch by members of the Dragons Trampoline Club from Norwich, with many of the young trampolinists keen to show off their skills alongside Britain’s most successful and only person to win medals at the Olympics in the discipline.
Younger guests will love a bit of time in the sand play area and if feeling bolder then taking to the skies with the Mini Aerial Adventure. Well it’s one metre off the ground but if you’re smaller than 1.2m in height it may feel like the sky!
Feeling adventurous? The Aerial Adventure will soar above the Adventure Village as they navigate the multi-directional course. And then there is The Jump giving guests the chance to freefall from two different heights onto a massive airbag!
Want to be a little closer to the ground? Then the Adventure Village has an outdoor stage and seating areas to enjoy outdoor entertainment while a pop-up bar and Seaside Treats container as well as being close to a range of food outlets means there’s plenty to keep the family hunger at bay! The 4x4 off-roaders are ideal for the younger driver who wants to test their skills, whereas our Junior Segways and full sized Segways test your balance ability too.
Gary Villiers, General Manager for Haven’s Caister-on-Sea Holiday park said: “The Adventure Village is a great development which is giving our holidaymakers and holiday home owners a selection of exciting new activities for them to discover during their holiday with us. It has bought a fresh look and feel to Caister-on-Sea Holiday Park, the oldest holiday park in the country, and we love the way it has transformed our outdoor area.”
Gerard Tempest, Chief Marketing Officer, said: “We are currently trialling new and exciting concepts for Haven, and the new Adventure Village is a great representative to show how we are looking to develop Haven in the future. If our concepts are successful, we will look to roll out these developments to our wider haven parks.”
