Olympic medallist Vicky Holland officially launches brand new Adventure Village at Haven Thorpe Park

Leading UK holiday company Haven celebrates the launch of its biggest Adventure Village to date at its Thorpe Park holiday centre near Cleethorpes. On hand to officially open the new facilities was Team GB athlete and Olympic medallist Vicky Holland.  

Part of an incredible £11.8 million investment across the park over a two-year period, the new highly anticipated Adventure Village will bring a new dimension to holidaymakers and owners looking for adrenalin fuelled activities, whilst an exciting new outdoor stage and bar area and the Seaside Treats pop-up container, means there is plenty for all the family at Thorpe Park for years to come. 

Looking ahead the investment will also support The Marina Bar and Stage, a new state-of-the-art entertainment area with attractive luminous lighting and digital screens, which will serve as another exciting and modern area for families to eat, drink and relax whilst on holiday. 

Offering a host of fun, adventurous activities for all ages, the Adventure Village at Thorpe Park is the fifth Haven have opened since 2019, and is jam packed with many family favourites. Guests can experience a fun-filled adventure in the sky as they climb across the multi directorial Aerial Adventure Max course, which is now joined by a mini version for young but mighty daredevils. The course is spread across two challenging levels for the ultimate sky-high experience and is the first two storey Aerial Adventure Max to be launched at Haven. Another addition includes The Jump, first introduced to Haven’s Craig Tara park in 2019, offering courageous guests a thrill-seeking experience by free-falling from two different height platforms onto a massive airbag! If that wasn’t enough, the popular Crazy Golf course has returned new and improved with challenging holes designed to get the whole family involved in a competitive head-to-head game. 

Team GB triathlete Vicky Holland, who became the first ever British woman to win an Olympic triathlon medal when she won bronze at Rio 2016, is no stranger to competitive challenges.

“I couldn’t wait to try out the new activities at Thorpe Park today. I am known for having a competitive streak, so I loved trying my hand at the new Crazy Golf course,” says Vicky. “I can see why there has been so much excitement over the news of the new Adventure Village and why children are so keen to try it out this summer. They definitely won’t be disappointed!”

From Olympic athletes to young families, there’s an activity for everyone to enjoy at Thorpe Park. Even friendly pooches are welcome to explore the new and enclosed Bark Yard area, a dog friendly obstacle course within the Adventure Village.

Talking about the launch day, Peter Tuck, General Manager at Thorpe Park, said “It was amazing to see so many people supporting the launch of our new Adventure Village and outdoor food and beverage areas today. We’re excited to be able to bring this concept to our park with so many fantastic activity additions we can’t wait to see guests enjoying themselves throughout the summer.” 

In addition to the Adventure Village, Thorpe Park has invested in other key outdoor areas including an exciting outdoor bar and stage for guests to enjoy this summer. Varied entertainment will be hosted throughout the day on the stage, whilst guests can sit back and relax with drinks from the outdoor bar and tasty snacks from Seaside Treats. 

Across the whole of the park the investment will create an additional 30 new roles in 2022, providing a boost to the local area.
