Haven, the UK’s leading holiday park operator, with 39 parks in prime coastal locations, officially opened its doors to its latest on‑park J D Wetherspoon pub, ‘The Springfield’ at its Cala Gran Holiday Park in Fleetwood, Blackpool.
Brand new for spring this year, three other onsite J D Wetherspoon pubs are launching at Lakeland in Cumbria, Hopton in Norfolk and Riviere Sands in Cornwall following a £9 million investment, with Lakeland now open and Hopton and Riviere Sands due to open later this week.
During the peak summer season, more than 80 team members will be working at the new venue, which can accommodate up to 600 guests.
The Springfield will serve breakfast from 8am and remain open until midnight Monday to Sunday in July and August, and until 10pm from March to June and September to November. The bar will serve real ale, a range of wines, craft beers and cocktails, while the food menu will feature traditional breakfasts, fish and chips, burgers and pizzas.
Jayne Mushet, General Manager, Haven Cala Gran said, “This is a fantastic addition to Cala Gran Holiday Park and something we know our guests and owners have been eagerly anticipating. We’re thrilled to kick off the season by opening the doors to our brand new pub.”
The pub is named after Springfield House which stood on what is now the main entrance to the park in the 1960s.
As is traditional, the pub has a unique carpet design inspired by the locality. The design features a glass domed ceiling motif from the Marine Hall in Fleetwood.
