Haven unveils £12 million Waterpark at Kent Coast holiday park
Major investment reinforces Haven’s long-term commitment to enhancing guest facilities across its 39 UK holiday parks
Haven, the UK’s leading holiday park operator, has officially opened a brand-new £12 million waterpark at its Kent Coast Holiday Park, near Rochester, marking one of the largest investments in Haven’s history. This £12 million investment forms part of a wider £50m investment programme at the park.
Television presenter and actor Joe Swash and The Seaside Squad officially cut the ribbon at the new attraction today, joined by local government representatives, schoolchildren and Haven team members. Guests were given an exclusive first look at the completed development, which is set to become a standout attraction for families visiting Haven’s Kent Coast Holiday Park during the 2026 holiday season and in years to come.
The development expands the park’s leisure offering, with a mix of slides, splash play and swimming facilities designed for guests of all ages.
The new facility has also been designed with sustainability in mind and will be powered by high-temperature heat pump technology, helping to improve energy efficiency while supporting Haven’s wider environmental ambitions.
Named Lost Lagoon Waterpark, the new complex features an immersive underwater adventure theme and includes:
- Atlantis Falls – a thrilling new waterslide and wild river experience, taking guests on a twisting flume adventure around the exterior of the building.
- Coral Bay – an interactive aqua play area designed for younger children.
- Tiddlers Tide Pool – a dedicated confidence-building pool for young swimmers.
- Aqua Haven – a refurbished outdoor pool featuring a brand-new enclosure.
- Allhallows Reef – an upgraded indoor swimming pool offering a range of family-friendly activities.
Simon Palethorpe, Chief Executive Officer of Haven, said:
“The Lost Lagoon Waterpark is a fantastic addition to Kent Coast and a great example of how we’re continuing to invest in the experiences that matter most to our guests. Whether it’s the excitement of the waterslides or families simply spending quality time together, it’s all about creating more memories that last a lifetime.
We’re seeing more families choosing to holiday in the UK, and it’s important that we continue to give them even more reasons to choose Haven. Investments like Lost Lagoon Waterpark demonstrate our commitment to providing outstanding facilities and experiences for the millions of guests who holiday with Haven each year.”
Joe Swash, a regular guest at Kent Coast Holiday Park with his family, said:
"It’s an incredible pool complex. My children are all different ages and there’s genuinely something for each of them to enjoy - whether they’re building confidence in the water or racing down the slides. Family holidays are all about spending quality time together, having fun and creating memories and this waterpark does exactly that."
The opening follows a record year for Haven and forms part of the company’s continued investment in the UK staycation market. Since 2021, Haven has invested more than £700 million in upgrading guest accommodation, facilities and experiences across its 39 holiday parks nationwide.
Kent Coast Holiday Park welcomed more than 98,000 guests during 2025 and remains a significant employer within the Medway area. Kent Coast employs more than 400 team members during peak season reflecting Haven’s long-term commitment to supporting local employment, tourism and economic activity in the region.
The park has also seen further investment in recent years. In March 2025, Haven opened The London Stone, a pub operated in partnership with J D Wetherspoon, building on the success of the companies’ exclusive operating agreement. In June 2026, Haven completed a major refurbishment of the on-site supermarket in partnership with Nisa, providing guests with greater product choice, expanded chilled food options and an enhanced beer, wine and spirits range.
