Haven set to raise £1 million for charitable partner the Royal National Lifeboat Institution
Haven announces ambitious fundraising target for 2023 putting the holiday company on course to raise an incredible £1 million pounds for the RNLI
Following a record-breaking year in 2022, leading UK holiday company Haven raised over £247,000 for its charity partner the RNLI through a series of fundraising events across the country. The donation surpassed Haven’s target of £125,000 for the year and cemented the five-year long partnership and the incredible work it does to keep holidaymakers safe.
Working together for what’s expected to be another successful season and the sixth consecutive year of partnership, Haven has set a target to raise £350,000 for the RNLI in 2023. This ambitious target brings them close to raising £1 million pounds for the RNLI since the partnership began in 2018. With holidaymakers arriving at Haven parks across the UK, the relationship with the RNLI is stronger than ever. Since the start of the partnership Haven has raised an outstanding £655,505.59 for the RNLI, an achievement which has been supported by generous guests, owners and team members.
Speaking on the partnership Simon Palethorpe, Managing Director said “We’re incredibly proud to continue to support the RNLI and honour the selfless and important work its volunteer lifesavers carry out 24/7. The partnership is a fantastic reminder to Haven’s three million annual holidaymakers and 25,000 holiday homeowners of the commitments the RNLI’s volunteer crews make in making sure everyone enjoys the UK’s coastlines safely.”
The donations raised by Haven help fund items such as new inshore lifeboats, full kit for inshore crew members or essential training for lifeguards whilst continuing to raise awareness of water safety in and around the coastline. The RNLI lifeguards rescue around 24,000 people every year and it’s their mission to educate and share water safety knowledge to reduce the risk and tragedies both on and offshore.
With over 2.5 million holidaymakers visiting Haven parks each year, it is vital to keep shores safe and rescue people whose lives are in danger.
Steve Hulbert, RNLI Senior Commercial Partnerships Manager, said: “I am absolutely delighted to hear about the continuous fundraising efforts from our partners at Haven and their holidaymakers. As a charity, we couldn’t continue saving lives at sea without the generosity of their donations. The safety of Haven’s visitors is important to us here at the RNLI, and by keeping our partnership with them we can help make a difference and keep people safe. All I can do is thank them for their dedication to our charity and look forward to their furthering commitment.”
