Haven invests £140m in 2025 as demand for UK holidays continues to grow
Investment aimed at delivering upgraded facilities, new holiday homes and enhanced dining experiences to welcome record-breaking guest numbers
Haven, the UK’s leading holiday park operator, has announced 2025 investments of £140 million in its estate as it welcomes a record 3.7 million holidaymakers this year.
The Chancellor of the Exchequer, the Rt. Hon. Rachel Reeves MP, visited Haven Kent Coast Holiday Park today to see firsthand how these investments are transforming coastal holiday destinations.
The Chancellor’s trip included a visit to the newly opened Wetherspoon pub, followed by a preview of the £10m swimming pool to be opened this winter. The Chancellor also had the opportunity to tour newly built holiday homes and meet with both guests and Haven team members, including some of the company’s 119 apprentices.
Since its acquisition by funds managed by Blackstone in 2021, Haven has invested over £660m in enhancing its 39 parks nationwide, including the £140m committed for 2025. This transformative investment has driven growth, with Easter 2025 holiday sales up 25% compared to the previous year and summer bookings trending significantly ahead of 2024, all whilst maintaining high levels of guest satisfaction.
Across Haven’s portfolio, this year’s investment will deliver more than 300 new holiday home pitches, bringing the total to nearly 40,000, alongside upgraded facilities, expanded Christmas and New Year breaks, and enhanced digital innovation, such as interactive maps for booking preferred caravans and flexible arrival times. Dining options will be further bolstered with the addition of new Wetherspoon pubs and Burger King restaurants, cementing Haven as one of the UK’s largest franchise operators for much-loved brands.
Commenting from the visit, The Chancellor of the Exchequer, Rachel Reeves said:
“This investment is a vote of confidence in the British economy and its tourism industry. Millions of visitors a year will benefit from this new investment and the improved facilities, and it will be an added boost to our economy.”
Simon Palethorpe, CEO of Haven said:
“There’s nothing that gives me a greater sense of pride in what we do than seeing our guests and owners enjoying themselves on our parks. We’re investing significant capital to give them more of what they love – more familiar brands, more and better facilities, more choice of holiday homes. The UK hospitality industry provides over three million jobs and is vital to the country’s economy. I’m delighted that the Chancellor of the Exchequer has been able to come and see for herself the value we provide to the communities in which we operate, the people who come to our parks and our team who look after them.”
Haven continues to be one of the largest local employers in UK seaside communities. The company’s 12,000 dedicated team members – trained through a range of internal talent development programmes – ensure a great guest experience. From lifeguards and chefs to heating engineers and general managers, Haven’s workforce exemplifies the company’s commitment to career development, quality and community.
