Haven announces £60million investment to accommodate the rise of holidaymakers in the UK

£60 million investment across multiple parks, introducing new activities, facilities and developments.

Leading UK holiday park operator Haven has announced a further £60million investment across multiple parks, introducing both new activities and facilities as well as development to increase the number of holiday homes.

Expanding on the Park of the Future project first introduced in 2019, Haven has already invested over £110 million in new, innovative concepts on parks throughout the UK. Now tried, tested and positively received by hundreds of thousands of holidaymakers, these concepts will be rolled out to an additional three Haven sites in 2022 - Allhallows, Thorpe Park and Kiln Park.

Allhallows near Rochester will see the biggest development in its history with both an Adventure Village and new state-of the-art entertainment area, The Marina Bar and Stage introduced. The Adventure Village has been introduced to four parks since 2019 and will include features such as the Aerial Adventure, where guests can soar above the park whilst navigating a multi-directional course, or The Jump, where those feeling very daring can freefall from two different heights onto a massive airbag.

The Marina Lounge and Bar will be a brand-new building which will provide a huge increase in capacity for events and live music. Replacing the current ShowBar which currently seats 280 guests, the new venue will be able to accommodate 920 guests providing more opportunities for guests to enjoy a range of day and night entertainment.

The all-action Adventure Village, already hugely popular on other parks will also be introduced to Thorpe Park near Cleethorpes in Summer 2022 whilst Kiln Park will see work over this winter to have a Marina Bar and Stage open in Spring 2022.

“We are extremely excited to be rolling out these concepts to expand Haven parks” said Gerard Tempest, Chief Marketing Officer at Haven. “The Adventure Villages and Marina Bar and Stages have proven to be extremely successful on other parks and we have no doubt that they’ll have the same impact on the parks they are being introduced to.  We look forward to both our guests and owners enjoying these in 2022 and beyond”.

In addition to the major park developments on three parks, Haven is undertaking an extensive pitch development programme. Following the pandemic, Haven has seen an increasing number of families wishing to holiday in the UK as well as enquiries into holiday home ownership, so will be investing in 737 new pitches across 14 holiday parks throughout the UK, to help meet the demand.

“The demand for both holidays and holiday home ownership has been significantly higher this year” said Gerard Tempest. “There is a growing interest in owning a holiday home here in the UK and we are prepared to be one of the first in accommodating that interest with our new pitches”.

Work on the developments will take place during this winter with opening across Spring and Summer 2022.
