Nathan Race

A marathon to save lives with Haven’s Seashore Holiday Park’s General Manager

Nathan Race's London 2021 Marathon race has seen him raise over £5,000 for the RNLI.

A completed 26.2 miles by Haven’s Seashore Holiday Park General Manager in the 2021 London Marathon has raised over £5,000 for charitable partner the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI).

In great spirits and a big smile, Nathan ventured from Norfolk to join the thousands who took to the streets of London on Sunday 3 October to complete the London Marathon – and with the generous support of family, friends, and the Haven team, he was able to raise an outstanding amount of over £5,000 for chosen charity the RNLI.

With mind over matter, Nathan undertook a vigorous training regime to prepare for the Marathon, committing to 10-12 hours of training per week which consisted of four runs, four swims and two bike rides on average. His training certainly paid off with Nathan completing the marathon in 3 hours, 49 minutes (CHECK)

“It was a privilege to support the RNLI by participating in the London Marathon ” said Nathan Race, General Manager at Haven’s Seashore Holiday Park. “Living and working at the coast, as well as regularly swimming in the sea, I see first hand, the fantastic work the RNLI do in saving lives at sea and keeping us safe”.

Since launching the partnership with the charity in 2018, Haven has managed to raise over £310,000 by team, guests, and owners through a range of different fundraising efforts. The funding has helped fund essential training for lifeguards, new inshore lifeboats and full kit for inshore crew members, just to name a few.

With over 2.5million holidaymakers visiting Haven parks each year, the RNLI's work is vital to educate people on how to stay safe at the coast and know what to do in an emergency.

“We highly value our partnership with Haven and are extremely grateful such a phenomenal fundraising achievement by Nathan, “said Ross Martin, Partnerships Manager for RNLI.

“We couldn’t do the work we do without efforts such as this. These donations help us do our crucial work at sea and also give us the chance to continue to educate people on how they can lessen the risk of putting themselves in danger at sea.”
